Botafogo side mocks Abel: ‘Today the warrior didn’t complain about the refereeing’

In a game full of confusion and controversy, the Botafogo lost 4-3 to Palmeiras this Wednesday (1st), at Nilton Santos, for the 31st round of the Brasileirão. And, despite the setback, a black and white player took the opportunity to mock the rival coach.

Away from the field due to a serious injury to his left knee, the right-back Rafael gave a ”nudge” to Abel Ferreira.

”Today the warrior didn’t complain about the refereeing. It is worth highlighting,” the defender wrote in a post on the official profile of the TNT Sports.

In the post, the broadcaster highlighted the following phrase said by the Portuguese coach right after the game, during the press conference: ”Like it or not, like it or not, but only a team from Brazil is capable of doing what we did here today”.

On the field, the Botafoguenses complained a lot about Braulio da Silva Machado’s refereeing. John Textor, owner of SAF alvinegra, could not contain his fury and called for the resignation of the president of the Arbitration Commission, Wilson Luiz Seneme.

The big reason for the return is the expulsion of defender Adryelson, when Botafogo was winning 3-1. In the final minutes, Palmeiras scored three goals and managed to win. For Textor, the refereeing in this Wednesday’s game turned the championship into a “joke”.

“The whole world saw it, that wasn’t a red card, he got to the ball first. I’m not even sure if it was a foul. And it’s not a red card, he changed the game. That’s corruption, it’s robbery. You can fine me , but you (Wilson Seneme) need to resign tomorrow morning”, said Textor.

“This championship has become a joke. Nobody deserves this. Palmeiras players don’t want to win like this, we don’t want to lose like this. Gentlemen, you played a beautiful game, but this is f***ing corruption. This has to change . And you need to resign for the good of the game. You can fine me, expel me, but it’s my stadium, I’ll still be here”, said the businessman.
