Drivers wait, on the morning of this Wednesday (1st), the eve of the All Souls’ Day holiday, for the release of BR-040, in Ouro Preto, in the Central region of Minas Gerais, after the accident involving a tanker trailer loaded with oil diesel. At around 8:30 am, there were already 18 kilometers of congestion towards Rio de Janeiro.
Both directions were closed, which hampered the journey of those passing through the area.
The crash occurred around 10:30 pm on Tuesday (31). The driver, who was not injured, lost control of the steering wheel. As a result, the vehicle stopped in an “L” shape and part of the axle fell.
This morning (1st), the fuel is being removed so that the trailer can then be dragged and traffic allowed. There is still no prediction of when this will happen.
Same highway, another accident
A crash between two cars also complicated traffic on BR-040, near Viaduto da Mutuca, in Nova Lima, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.
The accident, captured by the Itatiaia, occurred between a Corsa and Voyage. A group of elderly people occupied one of the crashed cars. Despite the scare, no one was injured.
