Via 040 plans to open the Ouro Preto section, in the Central region of the State, by 12pm this Wednesday (November 1st). The stretch has been closed since Tuesday night (October 31) after a tanker truck overturned there.
The truck carried 15 thousand liters of diesel oil. According to the concessionaire’s latest update, the congestion was 13 km towards Rio de Janeiro and 11 km towards Brasília. The reference point is the Boi na Brasa gas station.
The Fire Department was called due to the danger of explosion. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the dealership were also at the scene. Around 11am this Wednesday, teams were still in the process of clearing the section. The truck had already been lifted and was placed on the tow truck. After pickup, traffic will be released. The initial forecast is that this will occur until 12 pm.
On social media, drivers complained that they had been on the stretch for more than 10 hours with no prospect of release.
