A GM is experiencing troubled days and among the problems it faces is the delay in the production of some models and the publication of prices for the Equinox EV electric SUV, which will start at US$34,995 (around R$175,800 in a simple conversion) in the United States, which is US$5,000 above the value promised by the manufacturers when the car was first presented.

The Chevrolet Equinox EV will be launched in Brazil in mid-2024. It is not yet known what version the car will arrive in. In the case of the basic 1LT version, the autonomy declared by GM is 482 km. In addition, the car also has the 2RS version with front-wheel drive, which will cost from US$48,995 (R$245,974), and the 2RS with all-wheel drive will cost from US$52,395 (R$263,043).
However, with production delays due to strikes, GM says it will open an order bank in the first week of November in the United States. So far, the manufacturer reports that 200,000 people have shown interest in the Equinox EV on the brand’s reservation website in the North American market.

The Equinox EV is equipped with front-wheel drive and an electric motor capable of delivering 213 hp and 33.5 kgfm of torque in the basic and all-wheel drive (eAWD) versions and 294 hp and 47.8 kgfm of torque in the most equipped versions.
In the list of equipment, the car has a multimedia center with a 17.7” screen and the so-called “Super Cruise”, a system that gives the vehicle practically autonomous driving on a network of mapped roads in the USA and Canada.
The electric SUV will be the first that the brand will sell in Brazil with the new Ultium platform, more efficient than the one used by the Bolt, which will be discontinued. The new base uses new resources for energy recovery, which makes it possible to achieve up to 10% greater autonomy compared to vehicles equipped with batteries of similar size.
