Even without news since May 13 of the whereabouts of Nadiro da Silva de Souza, the main suspect of killing his own daughter, Maria Cec´ília Silva de Souza, 4 years old, until he turned himself in to the police this Thursday (25) , the child’s mother, Beatriz Silva Félix, said she was sure her ex-husband was alive.
The girl disappeared in Terra Rica, northwest of Paraná, after visiting her father, who refused to return her to her mother. Maria’s body was found the next day in the Rio do Corvo, a tributary of the Rio Paranapanema. The report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) pointed out that she died of strangulation and asphyxiation.
In an interview with RPCBeatriz now wants Nadiro to be punished for what he did.
“I asked God a lot to find him alive or dead. My certainty was that he was alive, and God showed that he was alive. I want justice to be done, that he pays for what he did”.

Nadiro managed to evade the police for 12 days. This Thursday morning, he presented himself at the police station accompanied by the defense lawyer. At the request of the Civil Police, Justice had issued an arrest warrant against the suspect.
According to police chief Samuel Souto Ribeiro, who is conducting the investigation, Nadiro was silent during the interrogation.
“We were close to finding him. Now it’s time to take a step-by-step look at the before and after the crime, find out where he went, where he was and whether or not he got help from someone. So far, the main motivation for the crime will be the fact that he did not accept that the mother raised the girl”.
The delegate informed that Nadiro is being investigated for aggravated homicide.
How the child disappeared
Nadiro and Beatriz were separated, but, due to a judicial authorization, he could take his daughter to spend the afternoons off.
Images from a security camera show the last moments that Beatriz would see her daughter. In the video provided by the police, her father appears hugging and kissing the girl, left by her mother to be cared for by her ex-husband.
Hours later, Nadiro sent a message to Beatriz warning that he would not return the couple’s daughter.
“She is already dead,” wrote the suspect.
A RPCBeatriz said she wants explanations from her ex-husband as to why the child was murdered.
“I’ll be more relieved when I look him in the face and ask him why he did that.”
