The price of gasoline sold to fuel distributors increased by 5% in Bahia as of this Thursday (25th), as informed by Acelen, the company that manages the Mataripe Refinery. Diesel also suffered a 2% readjustment.
According to Sindicombustíveis, distributors may or may not pass on the increase to consumers. At the stations in Salvador, a liter of gasoline at the stations cost an average of R$ 4.87, on Wednesday (24). Already on this Thursday, some establishments sold gasoline for R$ 5.14.
According to Acelen, product prices suffer variations because they follow market criteria that take into account the cost of oil, dollar and freight.
Also according to the company, in recent months gasoline prices have accumulated a 16% drop, due to 10 consecutive reductions. Diesel had a reduction of 31% in the same period and cooking gas (LPG), 10% between March and May.
