For another week, mango prices fell again in Vale do São Francisco (PE/BA), in Livramento de Nossa Senhora (BA) and in the North of Minas Gerais. According to Hortifruti/Cepea employees, the supply in these regions increased, while the demand for the fruit remained restricted.
In the Valley, palmer was traded at an average of R$ 1.13/kg, down 14% compared to last week. Tommy also registered a 15% drop in the northeast market, sold at R$ 1.30/kg. In Livramento, the prices of both varieties registered less expressive reductions, of 4.6% for palmer and 10% for tommy, with trading values averaging R$1.27/kg and R$1, 32/kg, respectively. Lower prices were also recorded in Norte de Minas, where palmer devalued 1.3%, trading at R$ 1.48/kg. For the following weeks, expectations are for continued growth in supply; as for demand, it may remain limited due to the month-end period.
