Project ‘Viva Azores, Knowing is Living!’ has programming on the Boulevard of Shopping Casa & Design

One of the greatest cultural influences of our State, the Azorean, will be the subject of an unprecedented project launched by the ND Group to tell this rich and extraordinary story of the beginning of Azorean immigration in southern Brazil, further strengthening the relationship between Azoreans and Santa Catarina.

Among the initiatives developed, a special program is being planned on Boulevard do Casa & Design, on 09/24, from 10 am to 3 pm. Bringing together cultural presentations that extol the traditions that remain alive to this day, such as the Lace de Bilros. Main responsible for keeping alive the technique that differentiates bobbin lace from other types of embroidery.

The Boi de Mamão is another cultural manifestation that will be highlighted at the event. The Azorean songs presented live by Nilera Cantador, integrates the cultural attractions.

The space also hosts Food Trucks, a kids space with a popcorn cart, cotton candy and face painting. In addition to a pet friendly environment to provide a different Saturday with the family.

Viva Azores Project, Knowing is Living!

The proposal to rescue the legacy of Azorean culture in Santa Catarina, cultivating the legacies left in gastronomy, architecture, arts and even in the manezinho accent, is part of the Azores Project, Knowing is Living!

This is considered the biggest multiplatform project of the ND Group companies from Santa Catarina and a unique opportunity to get to know the Azores and bridge the gap between past and present.

By highlighting the 275 years of Azorean colonization on the coast of Santa Catarina, making exclusive content available on all ND Group platforms until January 2023, the project also wants to expand the knowledge of Santa Catarina people about the Azores and, thus, awaken economic, cultural and cultural exchanges. tourism of nations.

Curated by professor and writer Lélia Pereira Nunes, 36 special articles will be produced throughout the project and, at the end, a two-hour series, which will show life in the archipelago, its historical value and its economic, tourist and cultural potential.
