Awareness actions, carried out on a constant basis by VLI, contribute to a harmonious relationship with the railway line

To show society that, in traffic, it is necessary to make safe choices and in accordance with the rules in force for the preservation of life, the National Traffic Week is celebrated between the 18th and 25th of September. During this period, VLI – a logistics solutions company that operates terminals, railroads and ports –, which regularly promotes educational campaigns to always make interaction with the railroad safer, reinforces its actions aimed at pedestrians, vehicles and the railroad.

The company’s program for this celebration, which has the theme “Urgent is life”, will include simulations, leaflets and educational blitzes at level crossings and lectures at driving schools. According to the general manager of Health, Safety and Environment at VLI, Mário Filippetto, the intention is to make people aware of the importance of being prudent and not breaking traffic rules.

“The most precious asset we have is life. Therefore, we maintain a constant commitment to everyone’s safety, preventing accidents, as well as promoting education projects and encouraging awareness and safe behavior of pedestrians, drivers, cyclists and motorcyclists. After all, in addition to transporting and connecting the segments we work with, the railroads are also an integral part of transit across the country”, emphasizes Filippetto.

simulations

To emphasize the importance of attention during the crossing of the railway line, among the highlights of the activities that are part of the National Traffic Week schedule at VLI are six simulated accidents on the railway, one of them being on the next day 24, in Brasilia. The action will take place from 9 am to 11 am, at the level crossing at km 230 of Núcleo Bandeirante, where there will also be leafleting.

guidelines

The adoption of some daily precautions by drivers and pedestrians can avoid accidents and preserve lives, such as: stopping, looking and listening before crossing the railway line; do not park vehicles near the track; lower the windows and car stereo before crossing the line; if you hear the train horn, stay tuned and wait for it to pass. Attention is the main factor to avoid being run over or collision, so only cross the railway line in safe and signposted places.

It is also very important that parents or guardians advise children not to play near the railway line. They have little experience and fail to realize the risks. During games in general, such as football and volleyball, they can cross without looking to catch the ball that escapes and put themselves in danger. Other tips are not to take a ride on the train, not to jump between the cars, even if the train is stopped, and not to throw stones or other objects in the composition, as well as to avoid taking videos and selfies near the train line.
