Generative AI is no longer a technology exclusive to applications, websites and computers, but has become a useful tool for owners of smartphones in the Galaxy S24 line, which natively features the Galaxy AI platform. Possibly scared by its South Korean rival, Apple has already come forward by confirming the arrival of similar functions in 2024.
This information was revealed by Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, who confirmed the launch of generative AI features with the next generation of iPhones, a line that should only debut in the 4th quarter of this year. According to rumors, the next version of Apple’s operating system, iOS 18, could be one of the biggest in years, surpassing even iOS 16.
It is possible that the generative AI mentioned by Cook will arrive natively with iOS 18, but we still don’t know if the new feature will be exclusive to the iPhone 16 series models or if it will reach all cell phones compatible with the software. The announcement came during Apple’s earnings presentation, but the executive limited himself by not revealing any further details.
At the time, Cook said that the company is spending a “tremendous amount of time and effort” on AI, indicating that the developer could enter the artificial intelligence market in the coming months. For now, no features have been anticipated by Apple, so we don’t know if it will be something close or far from the Galaxy AI solution.
In addition to artificial intelligence, iOS 18 should also bring performance improvements, energy efficiency and other new features to the Apple ecosystem.
