Naughty Dog brought great news for fans. With the release of the documentary Grounded II on YouTube, director Neil Druckmann stated that The Last of Us 3 will “probably” happen.

In an interview, the creative mind behind the Sony studio provided more details. According to him, a concept for the sequel to The Last of Us Part II was unclear for “years”, until “recently” something changed.

Apparently, Druckmann has something very clear in his mind for The Last of Us 3, and can already imagine it as a “fine line” with Part I and Part II. However, so far, there are still no hints about a future narrative.

I don’t have a story, but I have a concept. So for me, as exciting as Part I and as exciting as Part II, there’s an idea of its own, still kind of a fine line between all three games.

So, it’s like, there will probably be one more chapter to this story.

The Last of Us 3 had already been mentioned by an actor

The information released by Druckmann reinforces a comment made by Jeffrey Pierce, actor of Tommy, at the end of 2023. At the time, the voice actor suggested that Naughty Dog still did not have a script ready for The Last of Us 3, and that he did not even have been contacted by the studio. Click here to learn more.
