Until the launch of the new application, the service was available in the SmartThings app, in the SmartThings Find section. Now, with the arrival of the One UI 6.1 system on the Galaxy S24, it has gained a completely dedicated platform that can be used by other devices from the manufacturer.

The Samsung ecosystem location feature works with smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops and SmartTags.

Samsung Find Features

The app has three different sections, one for contacts, one for devices and one for items. The first lists all the contacts who share their location with you, while the second brings together your smartphones, tablets, laptops and other devices. In the third, you can view the Galaxy SmartTags placed on your objects.

The last two sections have subdivisions between the user’s own products and those of their family. This way, it is also possible to locate devices and items belonging to contacts who give permission for tracking.

How it works

When activated, Samsung Find shows where the lost object or chosen contact is on a map, in addition to having the option of making the device play a sound. If the device supports ultra-wideband (UWB), the feature also indicates which direction it is in.

The new feature does not yet have a specific function to notify the user if they forget a device or item, which is very useful for forgetful people who tend to leave their headphones and even their notebook anywhere. However, it is possible that it will be incorporated into the application in the next updates.
