Microsoft Rewards is a program widely used by players where they can earn points by playing and trying out new titles to exchange for gift cards or games.
Now Microsoft has made a pretty drastic change to the program. While previously unlocking one achievement per day rewarded 50 Microsoft Rewards points, players will now only earn 5 points for the achievement.
This means that players who use Microsoft Rewards will have a much harder time earning points, as achievements are now worth 10 times less to the program.
As expected, many users ended up not being happy with this change. According to one user, “50 was already pretty stingy on their part, since you need 1,750 points for something and it’s only once a day.”
Some would even be saying that if this change is permanent, Microsoft Rewards will end up losing much of its appeal, as it would become very difficult to actually achieve anything with the program.
In any case, Microsoft has not yet commented on the change. It remains to be seen whether this is just temporary or from now on the achievements will really only give 5 points in Microsoft Rewards.
