Corinthians used its social networks this Sunday afternoon to mourn the death of Roberto Carmona, a notable sports journalist. The communicator worked for about 50 years in radio. Timão paid tribute in publication on the official profiles of the alvinegro club.
“Corinthians regrets the death of Roberto Carmona, one of the great names in sports radio. Over more than 50 years of career, he has brilliantly recounted many moments in our history. To relatives, listeners and colleagues, especially from Transamerica, our feelings”, wrote the Parque São Jorge club on its social networks.
Roberto Carmona was 86 years old and currently working at Rádio Transamérica. The journalist was born in Presidente Bernardes, Paraná, but built his career on radio stations in São Paulo. In almost 50 years of career, the communicator worked on radio stations Gazeta, Bandeirantes, Globo, Jovem Pan and Excelsior.
According to Flávio Ricco, columnist for Record, the journalist underwent surgery on his spine and stayed in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) this week. During that time, Roberto Carmona had an infection and couldn’t resist. The communicator leaves four children and eight grandchildren.
