Max Verstappen celebrating victory in his homeland

This Sunday morning, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix with ease. The Dutchman asserted his favoritism at home and confirmed his tenth victory of the season, in 15 stages played. In second and third place were George Russell, from Mercedes, and Charles Leclerc, from Ferrari, respectively.

Despite making it to the podium, Ferrari disappointed in Zandvoort. On the 15th lap, Spaniard Carlos Sainz spent 12 seconds in the pits due to a tire change problem and ended up dropping to 11th place. He finished eighth, four places behind Britain’s Lewis Hamilton in fourth. In fifth, was the Mexican Sergio Prez, of Red Bull.

Another who had difficulties, but with his AlphaTauri, was Tsunoda. He complained about his tires, went to the pits, but returned with problems. The Japanese then stopped his car and ended up abandoning the race.

On lap 55, Bottas ended up stopping his Alfa Romeo on the main straight. A yellow flag was given and the safety car was triggered. The restart took place on lap 61, with Hamilton in the lead. However, Verstappen regained the lead without any difficulties before the first corner.

The seven-time champion, who was also overtaken by his teammate Russell, and by Leclerc, complained to the team on the radio because of the choice for medium tires, while his rivals were on soft tyres.

Now, Verstappen takes the lead in the Formula 1 general classification, with 310 points. Leclerc, in second, has 201. The drivers return to the tracks next Sunday for the Italian GP, ​​at the Monza Circuit, at 10 am (Brasília).
