PSG did their “homework” and beat Nantes 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, away from home, for the sixth round of the French Championship. Neymar, preserved, started the match on the bench and entered just 20 minutes into the second half.
The game marked the great harmony between Messi and Mbapp, with the Argentine standing out in assists and the Frenchman in goalkeeping.
Paris Saint-Fermain’s first goal was scored in the 18th minute, with Mbapp. The striker fired at speed, received a precise pass from Lionel Messi and finished with no chance for goalkeeper Lafont.
In the 24th minute, the Brazilian right-back Fbio was sent off directly after entering the midfielder Vitinha. The Portuguese midfielder even had to be replaced for Renato Sanches’ entry.
PSG and Mbapp’s second goal was scored in the 10th minute of the second half. In yet another counterattack, Messi ended up “finding” the French jewel, who had no trouble going to the nets. The referee even ruled out the goal for offside, but the VAR validated the play after review.
PSG’s third and final goal was scored in the 23rd minute by left-back Nuno Mendes, who took advantage of a finishing rebound on Neymar’s post, which replaced Mbapp.
With the victory, coach Galtier’s PSG reached 16 points, establishing itself in the leadership of the French Championship. Olympique de Marseilla have the same score, but have less goal difference. Nantes are in 10th place in Ligue 1, with six points won.
Paris Saint-Germain’s next match will be on Tuesday, against Juventus, for the first round of the Champions League. The game will be at Parque dos Príncipes, at 4 pm (from Brasilia).
Already for the French Championship, PSG will face Stade Brestois, next Saturday, again in their domains.
