Rumors about Felipe Drugovich’s future continue in full swing. After being tipped as a possible Aston Martin reserve driver, the Brazilian was seen visiting Red Bull’s facilities during this race weekend at formula 1at the Zandvoort circuit, in the Netherlands.
According to reporter Mariana Becker, from Girl ScoutsDrugovich attended a meeting with Helmut Marko, a consultant for Red Bull.
The Austrians also command Alpha Tauri, which is close to losing Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman should take the place of Fernando Alonso at Alpine. After the two-time Formula 1 champion signed with Aston Martin, the French team lost a legal dispute with McLaren in the fight for Oscar Piastri signing. Thus, they continue with a vacant seat for the 2023 season.
During the week, Felipe Drugovich was considered as a reserve driver for Aston Martin. According to British journalist Jow Saward, the young man has serious conversations with the team to replace German Nico Hulkenberg as reserve driver. To do so, he would be supported by a Brazilian bank.
Felipe Drugovich, who races for MP Motorsport, is the leader of Formula 2, with 205 points. With three stages to go, which means six races for the category, the youngster could claim the title early this weekend, if he gets the highest score possible.
It would be an unprecedented feat for Brazilian motorsport, which has never conquered the category since it was created, still as GP2, in 2006. The best position that Brazil has already occupied at the end of the season was second place, with names like Nelson Piquet Jr. ., Bruno Senna, Lucas di Grassi and Luiz Razia.
