Governor Paulo Câmara signed a decree guaranteeing R$ 50 million for families benefiting from housing programs
The Government of Pernambuco regulated, this Friday (09/02), the State Program of Subsidy to Housing of Social Interest (PESHIS). The initiative will grant subsidies to people benefiting from housing programs with Caixa Econômica Federal. Decree signed by Governor Paulo Câmara ensures investments of R$ 50 million, which will benefit families whose monthly income is up to two minimum wages.
“Within the Retomada Plan, we are carrying out an audacious program. PESHIS advances the issue of housing guarantees, especially for the low-income population. In this initial phase, we are going to guarantee 3,000 homes for families in Pernambuco”, highlighted Paulo Câmara. Priority will be given to families who have lost their only property in an emergency situation or state of public calamity recognized by the Union and/or the State Government.
According to the director-president of the State Housing and Works Company (Cehab), Bruno Lisboa, the program seeks to solve one of the greatest difficulties for families when it comes to acquiring a property, which is to pay an initial contribution. “We are unlocking this entry, making up to R$ 35 thousand available for financing. In the case of this value, the property must cost up to R$ 130 thousand. With this, it is possible to have an installment of approximately R$ 280 per month”, he assured. The decree also provides for other subsidy ranges, according to the beneficiary’s income and the price of the housing unit.
To be included in the benefit, the property must be new, with up to 180 days of issuance of the “habit-se” or equivalent document issued by the competent municipal public body. In cases of “occupancy” obtained earlier, the housing must not have been inhabited or alienated before joining the program. The subsidy will be transferred directly by Cehab to Caixa, at the time the financing contract is signed.
The president of the Civil Construction Industry Union in Pernambuco (Sinduscon), Érico Furtado, highlighted the importance of this initiative. “It is the first step of the staircase that we are going to build together with the Paulo Câmara government to value the people of Pernambuco, giving a home to thousands of families,” he said.
Also participating in the ceremony were state secretaries Tomé Franca (Urban Development and Housing) and Marcelo Bruto (Planning and Management executive), as well as Sinduscon real estate director Betinha Nascimento, Fiepe vice president José Antônio de Lucas Simon , and the real estate entrepreneur and former president of Ademi-PE Alexandre Mirinda.
