Paddy Pimblett weighed himself on podcast and almost reached 94 kg

THE Paddy Pimblett’s relationship with the scale is a recurring theme in the world of MMA and won a new episode this Wednesday (31). In participation in the podcast ‘Steve-O’s Wild Ride’, the fighter surprised by appearing clearly heavier than usual in his fights of the UFC. Curious, the comedian and interviewer asked ‘The Baddy’ to weigh himself and the result was an incredible 93.7 kg.

It is common for MMA athletes to gain weight during off-competition periods, but the English fighter takes this premise to the extreme. Athlete in the lightweight division, Paddy Pimblet weighed more than 20 kg above the limit for his category (70.7 kg). With this brand, the youngster could compete, for example, among the light heavyweights – three divisions above the one he performs. As if that wasn’t enough, ‘ The Baddy’ still took the opportunity to play with the situation.

“If I had stepped on the scales tonight after we ate everything and watched the UFC (I would be weighing in), 95kg easily. I get swollen”, said the athlete, laughing.

Despite having become one of the UFC sensations in less than a year, Paddy has already been criticized by Dana White because of his relationship, at least peculiar, with the scales. At the time, the Ultimate top hat regretted the young athlete’s “negligence” and highlighted that these tough processes could hinder him in the future, in addition to making it difficult for him to fit in last minute fights, since ‘The Baddy’ would have to cut a lot weight in a short time.

Coincidentally or not, since submitting Jordan Leavitt at the end of July, the Englishman has yet to be paired with any other opponents. At the age of 27, the lightweight has three wins in three fights since joining the UFC in September 2021.
