Despite the short time of rivalry, paiN x LOUD can already be considered a classic of CBLOL 2022. The duel, which provided the first reverse sweep in the history of the championship in 2021, will now define the great champion of the 2nd stage. The stage could not be better: this Saturday (3), the decision returns to a large arena, the Ginásio do Ibirapuera, for the first time since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thiago “tinowns”, mid-laner from LOUD, recognizes that expectations are high for everyone:

— Not only were the players waiting a lot for this, but the crowd, the fans, too. I think everyone will be on the same track. Everyone is building up a high level of anticipation in this finale, and I think it’s fair for all of this history, all these occasions that happened. Ibirapuera will catch fire and has the potential to be one of the greatest finals we’ve ever had — he admits.

The decision is also a reunion in more ways than one. Tin will face his old home, exactly where he turned a 2×0 to 3×2 on top of LOUD, and also where he won his last title. His departure, however, was bitter: the desire to play outside Brazil and the accusations that paiN had made negotiations difficult became more than public, and the idol’s farewell was made discreetly.

Completing almost a year of LOUD, he does not deny that his departure from paiN was troubled, but he states that it is almost water under the bridge:

— It was really turbulent, but I think that, for now, the tempers are calming down. I think time has made everything calmer, both the fans and the players, the organization and everything else. It’s a final I wanted. I’ve said it on CBLOL and in other interviews, I wanted this final against paiN. I think it will have a little more taste, they are the two organizations with the biggest fans. It’s going to be a giant final. I also wanted to face CarioK, Xero and Dionrray, who are ex-teammates. They made a big part of my evolution in the last few years, I think it’s going to be pretty cool – narrates the player.

The other reunion is within the CBLOL 2022 playoffs. It was paiN that sent LOUD to the lower bracket of the knockout stage, winning in a tight 3×2. For Tinowns, the reasons for this defeat are clear, and he bets that his team will have much more strength for the decision:

— To tell you the truth, I think paiN surprised us in terms of the Draft and everything else. Like it or not, even though it was a very tight 3×2, I think we weren’t that comfortable. In the games we lost and won, we didn’t get into that series so comfortable. In terms of the draft, I think we didn’t follow our plan, our style of play, and that ended up affecting a lot. They were kind of messed up games, in my view —

He ensures that the tactical part has been adjusted for possible surprises; the compositions used against FURIA, such as Diego’s Kalista “Brance”, are a taste of a more cohesive LOUD for the main stage. With these new weapons in his arsenal, and already knowing paiN, he bets on the exhaustion of his opponents:

— We’ve already adapted, I think paiN used everything to beat us, and we’re going to come much closer to the final — he sighs.

Among so many strong narratives for this final, it is necessary to highlight the duel in the Middle lane. tinowns was at Ibirapuera in the last final received by the arena, when he represented CNB and lost to INTZ by 3×1. In the audience was Matheus “dyNquedo”, who decided to become a professional player after witnessing the party. Recurring opponents since then, tin and dyNquedo return to the Gym in search of another title.

“I always thought he was a guy who has a lot of potential, and he’s proved it many times; today is no different. I think he’s in a good phase, but not the best. I think it will be a really good match, in 1v1. Mechanically, the two are very used to each other’s game, so I don’t think there will be any huge surprises. Whoever works the map more, plays better in teamfights is the one who will be able to play a better role for their team and win the series — analyzes tinowns.

Speaking of himself, he confesses that he no longer has the attention of paiN, when he was arguably the best player in Brazil. Still, he sees himself in an even better moment, and assures him that he’s still on top of the scene:

— I think I’m an even more evolved tin, to be honest. At that time I shone, I won a lot of awards and everything, but you can’t keep that every year. If you’re not a champion, in my view, there’s no way you can be named the best player. Now I’m here for another year to prove that I’m still among the best, both in my position and in the championship. I think that if we come out with the victory, I’m a possible candidate for one of the best players – he projects.

paiN and LOUD define the great champion of CBLOL this Saturday (3), starting at 1 pm. The best of 5 series will have sportv 4 live stream.
