A video of an interview with Max Verstappen appeared on the Instagram channel of Ferrari F1 member Gino Rosato. In the interview, the Red Bull Racing driver praises the Italian team and recognizes that he has a good relationship with the team members.

Verstappen and Red Bull Racing compete against Ferrari, not Mercedes, for Formula 1 this season. The battle with the German team in 2021 was indeed fierce on the track; but perhaps even more outside of it. The members of the two teams have always been like one against the other, while the fight with Ferrari is different.

“I prefer what we have now in Formula 1. I’ve known Charles Leclerc for a long time; He’s a nice guy. We are also the same age, only a few weeks apart. So we fight with Ferrari and when they win a race we can congratulate them; moreover, they do the same when we win. For that, I really respect them,” Verstappen said in an interview with Sky Italia.

For the rest, Verstappen also mentions his good relationship with the Ferrari F1 team. “I have a good relationship with Mattia Binotto and also with Gino [Rosato, o funcionário da Ferrari que postou o vídeo]. Even on Saturday night at Paul Ricard, we could laugh together. On the Formula 1 track, you want to beat each other; however, outside you just want to have fun together.’

Asked if he didn’t have such a disposition in the 2021 duel with Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen laughed. “Yeah, I didn’t sit with them Saturday night. The connection I have with Ferrari and, in general, the respect I have for Ferrari is much greater.”
