Jon Jones gave important advice for the preparation of Alex Poatan in pursuit of the middleweight title (up to 83.9kg.) against Israel Adesanya, in a confrontation scheduled for UFC 281, which takes place on November 12. O ‘bones‘, who followed the Brazilian’s recent updates on his weight, asked him to be careful in the disclosures and tore praise for his striking.
“Be careful not to show Izzy too much (Israel Adesanya), champion. I honestly don’t think it will matter. It’s yours. (…) loving these kicks,” Jones wrote in ‘Instagram‘ from Poatan.
Jones’ recommendation came after Poatan’s posts about his training for the match. In addition, the Brazilian also revealed his weight and, today, he is 102.6kg, around 19kg. above the limit established by the middleweight division (up to 83.9 kg.).
In the UFC since November 2021, Alex needed just three fights to get his passport stamped for a belt dispute, especially when facing Adesanya, his epic rival in kickboxing – as the Brazilian won two matches.
‘Bones’, in turn, hasn’t fought since February 2020. After giving up the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.) that season, the fighter started the process of preparing for his debut in the up to 120.2kg division. The athlete, however, has no confirmed date or opponent.
