Vasco announced on Thursday night, at an event in the center of Rio de Janeiro, its new main sponsor: the betting house Betfair will occupy the main space on the shirt until the end of 2025, with the possibility of renewal for two more years.

The company will pay R$115 million for the entire duration of the contract, equivalent to around R$70 million per year. It will be the fourth largest master sponsorship in Brazil, behind only Corinthians, Flamengo and Palmeiras.

Some players attended the event and served as models for the new shirt, such as defenders Léo and Maicon, goalkeeper Keiller, midfielder Paulinho and striker Vegetti. Lúcio Barbosa, the CEO of SAF, highlighted the importance of the partnership.

– We know that we have a lot of emergencies at Vasco, we follow almost everything they say on the networks. I want to make it clear that, no matter how urgent some things are, we have to understand Vasco’s value. This is much more important than talking about price. At the right time, the right things need to happen – he said.

– The vast majority of our fans are very happy, the biggest sponsorship in Vasco’s history. I hope it’s long term. We know that there is a small minority who are uncomfortable, and for this small minority we can be sure that we will work day and night to make Vasco bigger every day. We are here to work, to get things right rather than wrong – he added.

On the main shirt, the Betfair brand will be positioned parallel to the diagonal stripe. The debut of the new uniform will be next Sunday, in São Januário, in the match against Vitória, for the Brasileirão.

In the women’s team, the brand will be printed on the shoulder blade of the shirt.

There were approximately 115 days without master sponsorship since PixBet left. Vasco adopted an unchanging stance in the market of only accepting proposals with values ​​that it considered ideal for advertising in the space. The negotiations were carried out by the SAF board, together with executives from 777 Partners.
