The bad moment in which Alpine passes by Formula 1sinking to the bottom of the category grid could end up causing an unexpected consequence for many: the return of Mick Schumacher to the category.

Currently an Alpine driver in World Endurance Championship (WEC)the young German maintains a connection with F1 as a reserve and test driver for the Mercedes. As a result, Mick has been carrying out a series of sessions with the German team’s car, but this would not be his target.

According to the German website F1-Insider, the bad moment experienced by Alpine could end with the departure of the current duo, formed by Esteban Ocon and Pierre Galy, both of whom are in the last year of their contract. And Mick’s performance both in testing with Mercedes and in his first appearances with the French team in the WEC could put him in a good position in the fight for the 2025 places.

According to the report, Schumacher recently completed a 350km test at Silverstone, which left Mercedes engineers very satisfied, not only with the performance but also with the help he brought to the team.

And Schumacher seems to have important internal support in the team, with Bruno Famin, currently responsible for Alpine’s entire motorsport program, said to be satisfied with the German to the point of approving a possible exchange. He would even have left the door open for a test with the F1 team later this year.
