Bahia has already made seven signings for the 2024 season, with one of the reinforcements only arriving at the club in July for the left-back role.

In an interview after losing to Ba-Vi away from home, coach Rogério Ceni stated that he did not have enough players to replace the starting midfielders and that this was the reason for opting for an extra defender in the second half.

Furthermore, the technician assured that he understands the need to reinforce the sector that he considers to be lacking.

Ceni says he is not waiting for expensive reinforcements, as investments at the beginning of the year were high, but he wants another piece to reinforce the midfield.

“We are unlikely to make any hires… A lot of money has already been spent, a lot of money has been invested. I see people saying there are millions, millions. It was invested a lot last year, a lot this year”.

We are trying to find some pieces to strengthen the sector (midfield) and have an extra change”.

In the first months of 2024, Bahia brought three midfielders who quickly took over as starters.

Jean Lucas and Caio Alexandre, who cost approximately R$24.3 million each, were the most expensive reinforcements in terms of amounts paid for transfers so far. Everton Ribeiro, in turn, is the player who came with the highest salary.
