Vasco traded Argentine Orellano. The 23-year-old winger will play on a one-year loan for FC Cincinnati, in the United States. He has already traveled to undergo medical examinations and introduce himself to his new club.

Ramón Díaz sees Orellano away from Vasco: “He wants to leave, I like players who want to stay”

FC Cincinatti is currently fourth in MLS, the North American league.

Orellano had already expressed his desire to leave the club since Vasco’s return. He was the club’s biggest investment last year, bought from Véllez Sarzfield, from Argentina. He had no run in the starting lineup and suffered from some injuries throughout 2023.

The news was first published by journalist Venê Casagrande, from SBT.

Orellano cost Vasco around US$4 million – a value corresponding to 60% of the Argentine’s economic rights. There was the possibility of SAF acquiring another 25% in the future, in case of goals achieved by the player, for another US$2 million. What did not happen.

At the beginning of the 2024 season, Orellano stayed in Rio de Janeiro, was a starter and highlighted the reserve team that played the first two rounds of the Campeonato Carioca, with two assists and a goal – very beautiful, by the way, in a shot from outside the area in the 3-3 draw with Sampaio Corrêa. But nothing changed. He once again expressed his desire to leave Brazilian football.
