Santos registered striker Alfredo Morelos on list A of the Campeonato Paulista. With this, the 27-year-old player can now be selected for the duel against Guarani. The teams face each other this Sunday, at 6pm (Brasília time), in Vila Belmiro.
Santos fans get excited and believe in better days in 2023
Morelos had his new contract with Peixe registered last Thursday, when the Colombian’s name appeared in the CBF’s Daily Newsletter (BID).
There was an impasse between the player and the Peixe board in recent days. Even though he accepted a significant salary reduction, the attacker was not listed for the duel against Água Santa, as president Marcelo Teixeira postponed the signing of the contract in an attempt to negotiate a lower value.

In the new agreement, Peixe will pay Morelos his new salary cap and offer him a bonus of R$10,000 per goal for the season. Furthermore, the Vila Belmiro club gave him another year on his contract, a request made by the athlete’s staff to reduce the financial damage from the salary reduction.
Morelos is the 24th player registered on Paulistão’s A list. This list is reserved for players not trained at the club or formed and born before 2003. The São Paulo Federation allows up to 26 names in the group. There are still two vacancies to be filled.
