Club from the interior of São Paulo, Ituano announced the signing of striker Leozinho, former best in the under-23 futsal world. The player signed a contract until the end of 2024 and will compete in the Campeonato Paulista and Série B for the red-black team.
The athlete was at Hercílio Luz. The Santa Catarina team was his first in field football – at the end of 2022, he announced that he would move from the courts to the pitch and, in February 2023, he was announced by the club from the south of the country .
For Hercílio, Leozinho competed in the Catarinense Championship, the SC Cup and the Brazilian Series D. In total, there were 22 games and three goals scored.
Before signing with Ituano, the 25-year-old athlete spent weeks testing at the Galo de Itu CT, participating in training with the rest of the squad.
Futsal star and multi-champion
Leozinho made futsal history. A left winger with refined technique and great skill, the player established himself as one of the greatest Brazilian stars in the sport and was frequently called up for the Brazilian national team.
In 2019 and 2020, the winger was voted the best young futsal player (under-23) in the world by the Futsal Planet website, the most traditional in the sport.
“Prince of Futsal”, as he was nicknamed, Leozinho made history for Sorocaba. There, he was a multiple champion: he won the Club World Cup (2018 and 2019), the National League (2020), the Taça Brasil (2021), the Brazilian Super Cup (2018 and 2021) and the Campeonato Paulista (2020 and 2021).
In August 2022, the athlete was released by the São Paulo club due to indiscipline and relationship problems with the coach and some teammates. Three months later, in November, he announced that he would pursue a career in football.
