F1: Sainz rules out return to Red Bull, according to Spanish newspaper

Movement in the Formula 1 driver market became even more hectic last Thursday (01/02). After Ferrari confirmed the arrival of Lewis Hamilton for 2025, leaving Carlos Sainz without a place in the Italian team, speculation pointed to Red Bull as a possible destination for the Spanish driver. However, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Sainz has no interest in returning to his old home.

Red Bull will most likely have a vacancy in 2025, with the uncertainty regarding the renewal of Sergio Perez’s contract, and Sainz’s history at Toro Rosso (currently Visa Cash App BB) fueled this possibility. However, the pilot seems to be looking for other paths.

Although he played for Toro Rosso for two and a half seasons, being Max Verstappen’s teammate in one of them, Sainz never hid his desire for protagonism. At Ferrari, even without being the number 1 driver, he accumulated two victories and five pole positions, but Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari puts him in a position without a team for now in the 2025 season.

Apparently, the Spaniard does not want to repeat the situation at Red Bull, where Verstappen reigns supreme. As a result, his future remains open, and attention turns to other possible destinations on the competitive Formula 1 grid.
