Guarani is preparing to soon launch a shirt with references to K-Pop. In principle, the model should be part of a more casual line, instead of being used by the football team.
– After all this repercussion involving Guarani, our marketing department began developing an exclusive line of clothing for fans, titled K-Pop. This new collection aims to develop retro-style cloaks, inspired by the pieces used by artists – explained vice-president Adriano Hintze.
The line will feature references from Eastern culture, as previously reported by “Minha Taba”. The idea is to take advantage of the engagement generated by K-Pop artists to expand the club’s market outside Brazil, in addition to offering a new collection to fans.
– The objective is to offer our fans unique pieces that express the club’s identity, taking advantage of the current trend. Furthermore, we are working to make this line available not only in Brazil, but also around the world.
Guarani shirt ends up in South Korea and is a hit among K-Pop fans
There is a lot of curiosity among fans about how the shirts reached Asian artists. This is a model used in 1996, the year in which Guarani went on a tour to play two friendlies in Japan.
Former striker Adriano Raio was present in the delegation that beat Verdy Kawasaki, 2-1, in Toyama, and then lost to Kashima Antlers, 3-1, in a visit that lasted ten days on the Asian continent.
– I remember it was at the time of changing sponsors. We received some shirts for the trip, both from the previous uniform and later with updated sponsorships. It was common to exchange game shirts with our opponents, but we also distributed older ones as gifts to those who took a photo with our team.
Digital stores replicated the model and are selling the shirts – which caught the attention of the marketing department.
Some models found on the internet had the text on the inside of the shield changed and a star added. One of the websites that make these models available has reached more than 3,600 sales and describes the product as a nylon sweatshirt that can be worn in both summer and autumn.
