During his appearance on the ‘Up Front With Simon Jordan’ podcast, the Brit highlighted McGregor’s achievements and the importance of the ‘Notorious’ in taking the sport to another level in terms of the number of fans and spectators.

“I think he’s great for the sport. He definitely brought the sport to the casual fans. He’s one of those guys you either love or hate, but he is who he is. You can’t take away from him what he achieved in sport. He became the first champion of two simultaneous divisions. So even though he talks a lot, he’s a really good fighter, after all. He definitely helped the sport. He took nothing away from the sport. He gave more than he took, in terms of pushing it to the general public”, highlighted Edwards.

The sporting and marketing achievements of Conor McGregor are indisputable, but the controversies in the Irishman’s personal life serve as a counterpoint for some fans. Edwards, however, guarantees that he doesn’t care what the ‘Notorious’ does outside of the sport, as he is not friends with the former champion.

“I’m judging the competitive and promotional part. His personal life is his business. I couldn’t care less about his personal life. It’s more about what he achieved in the game and how he promoted himself. He is not my friend”, he concluded.
