In the first game of the season with the starters on the field, Fluminense did not disappoint and beat Bangu 4-1, coming from behind, at the Estádio Luso-Brasileiro, this Thursday (1/2), in the fifth round of the Guanabara Cup.

Bangu opened the scoring with a great goal from Adsson, after a mistake by Fábio on the way out of the game. The goalkeeper made a mistake and saw the opponent hit almost from midfield to cover it, in a beautiful goal.

Fluminense turned around at the beginning of the second half, with goals from Keno and Arias, and defined the victory with a great goal from Cano and another from Arias. The tricolor team did not lose control of the match, despite coming up behind on the scoreboard.

With the victory, Fluminense has 13 points after five games and leads the Guanabara Cup. Flu has three points more than Botafogo and Nova Iguaçu, second and third placed, respectively.

Bangu is fighting against relegation. The team has not yet won in the competition and only has one point, in 10th place.

The teams return to the field next Sunday (4/1). While Fluminense visits Boavista at 4pm (Brasília time), Bangu also plays away from home, against Audax Rio, at 9:30pm.

The game

Fluminense completely dominated the beginning of the game, but felt a lack of rhythm. In the first minutes, the current champion of America imposed himself on the field and used the sides of the field a lot to create dangerous plays. But the lack of training time for the starters, who returned from vacation last week, took its toll. Cano, for example, missed three good goal opportunities.

Fábio missed badly and Bangu opened the scoring when he had already improved on the field. If they didn’t manage to balance the match, the visitors managed to pose a threat in the first half and were efficient. Taking advantage of a wrong pass from Fábio, already outside the goal, Adsson took a first chance, almost from midfield, and scored a great goal.

With the volume of the game, Fluminense looked for a comeback at the beginning of the second half. There was time to celebrate – Bangu took the lead at halftime. However, five minutes into the second half, Keno equalized with a header. Ten minutes later, Arias made a great individual play, left a marker behind and dropped a bomb to score the turning point.

The top scorer never loses his touch! Ahead on the scoreboard, the home team continued to attack, seeking to kill the game. In the 28th minute, Cano received the ball from Arias, dominated with freedom and hit hard to score a great goal and give Fluminense peace of mind. The Colombian midfielder scored one more to turn the victory into a rout.
