Last Thursday night (1), the deadline for European teams to sign new reinforcements ended. This fact is good news for Palmeiras, who now have a clear path to closing with their main target in recent days.
Recently, Willian José caught the attention of Palmeiras and the club began negotiations to sign the athlete, due to the team’s needs and because the center forward fit the profile desired by Abel Ferreira.

Real Betis refused the first proposal, mainly because they were already negotiating for another striker and had not yet made any signings. However, the Spanish announced two reinforcements (Ávila and Bakambu), which makes the Brazilian’s sale easier.
Another great news for the Verdão board is that Las Palmas, a club that was strong in the competition for the striker, did not close the deal and, now, the deadline for signing the Europeans is over.
This way, Palmeiras has a clear path at the moment and has until March to announce reinforcements. The proposal must be more than R$32 million for Real Betis to accept, but Verdão signaled its willingness to pay.
With his career in Spanish football, Brazilian Willian José has 10 goals and two assists in 27 games this season.
