At Ferrari, Hamilton will take over from Carlos Sainz, who had been negotiating the renewal of his contract since the end of 2023, but talks were recently interrupted.

Seven-time world champion and for many one of the greatest drivers in history, Hamilton has been at Mercedes since 2013, after starting his career in Formula 1 with McLaren. Over the course of 222 GPs for the German team, the Briton won six of his seven world titles, totaling 82 victories, 78 pole positions and 148 podiums.

The last victory in a Formula 1 GP happened two years ago, at the Saudi Arabian GP. In the 2022 and 2023 seasons Hamilton did not win, something unprecedented in his career until then.

The 2024 Formula 1 season will begin on March 2 with the Bahrain GP, the first of 24 stages in the category’s history. The Brazilian GP is initially scheduled for the first, second and third of November this year.
