With the expected delivery, the team will lose the duels against Ituano, on the 8th, and against Corinthians, on the 18th of February. The expectation is that Verdão will return to its stadium against Mirassol, on the 24th.

A technical report requested by WTorre, to which the ge had access, pointed out that thermoplastic really does not withstand the high temperatures of the city of São Paulo and that the most appropriate thing at this time is to change the material.

The exchange process will be carried out by Soccer Grass, which had its contract with Palmeiras terminated on Monday, but remains a partner of WTorre and responsible for the pitch at Allianz Parque.

The thermoplastic compound is the material that has suffered deformation and has become a mass in the boots of players who play at Allianz Parque. Images released by ge last Sunday they drew attention to the seriousness of the problem.

In 2020, almost 54 tons of this product were applied, which visually looks like rubber, but has a different composition and is hollow inside, which also helps to prevent water accumulation.

With the high temperatures, however, it has not been able to withstand it and caused problems. WTorre then found it more appropriate to switch to cork, already used at Nilton Santos, Botafogo’s stadium, and which receives praise from the players who play there.

The construction company also assessed that the other two layers that make up the lawn (Shock Pad and synthetic grass carpet) are in good condition, within their expiration date and do not require maintenance at this time.

Cork is authorized by FIFA and is widely approved by athletes.
