Seven-time Formula 1 champion, British driver Lewis Hamilton will switch from Mercedes to Ferrari in 2025, according to the English newspaper Sky Sports. On the web, users of social network X compared the likely transfer to football “turncoats”.
The debate began after a page on X (formerly Twitter) asked followers to explain what Hamilton’s move to Ferrari would mean in “football terms”.
The potential change in Formula 1 was compared to hypothetical transfers of Gabigol, Flamengo striker, to Corinthians, and Mohamed Salah, Liverpool striker, to Manchester United, the move of Portuguese Luís Figo from Barcelona to Real Madrid and the Cristiano Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid to Juventus.

The Italian portal Formu1a.uno says that the contract Hamilton with the Ferrari It should start in 2025 and last for one year. If the parties are satisfied, there would be an automatic renewal clause for one season.
Lewis Hamilton has a history at Mercedes, the Briton’s current team. It was with the German company’s car that the driver won six of his seven titles in the Formula 1.
He was F1 champion in 2008, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Bonds of friendship at Ferrari
