The reporter from Formula 1 Will Buxton wrote that it would be a great story if the Italian promise Andrea Kimi Antonelli18 years old, to take the place of Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes from 2025.

Right now, all signs point to Hamilton becoming a Ferrari driver from next year. According to the Motorsport.comthe agreement has already been reached, but the official announcement is still pending.

According to Buxton, who gained worldwide notoriety after participating in Drive to Survive, “it would be a great story” if, from 2025, Antonelli, now 18 years old, took Hamilton’s place. Having won Italian F4 and FRECA, the Italian driver will skip Formula 3 and compete in Formula 2 for the Prema team in 2024.

“It is important to note that the Mercedes junior and prodigy will make his F2 debut this season. If he performs well enough and earns the super license points, it would be a great story if an 18-year-old rookie replaced Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025,” Buxton wrote on his Page X (Twitter).
