February 1, 2024 08:50

Rumors gained a lot of strength this Thursday that Lewis Hamilton will leave Mercedes at the end of 2024 and go to Ferrari from the 2025 Formula 1 season onwards. The information was released today by British press outlets, such as Sky Sports and the BBC.

According to reports, a briefing with Mercedes employees is scheduled for 2pm (London time) this Thursday. On that occasion, team boss Toto Wolff is expected to make an announcement about Hamilton’s future.

With the departure of the seven-time champion, Mercedes will have to find a replacement for the 2025 season to race alongside George Russell.

Hamilton is the biggest winner in the history of Formula 1, with seven titles (tied with Michael Schumacher). He has been at Mercedes since 2013 and has won six titles with the team.

Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari will be a great reinforcement for the Italian team. The British driver is one of the most experienced and winningest in Formula 1, and his presence should raise Ferrari’s expectations for the 2025 season.
