Bahia is close to making the arrival of its new center forward official for the season. This is the Colombian Óscar Estupiñán. The information was published by journalist Fabrizio Romano, a market specialist in Europe.

A 27-year-old center forward, Estupiñán currently plays for Metz, in France, where he has played just six games since September, without scoring a goal.

During the months of October and January, the player was out of action due to injury. His last match for Metz, from the French elite, took place on January 27th, when he came on at the end of the match.

The deal is for a season-long loan from Hull City, from the English second division, which holds his economic rights.

For the English team, the Colombian had played 42 games, with 14 goals between 2022 and 2023. He even received the best player of the month award in the English 2nd division.

Revealed by Once Caldas, Óscar Estupiñán has played in European football since 2017, when he was bought for 2 million euros by Vitória de Guimarães-POR, where he remained until 2022 – and left the club at zero cost.

His best numbers in Europe came in the 2021/22 season, when he scored 16 goals in 33 games for the Portuguese club.

Estupiñáz also has loan spells with Barcelona, from Ecuador, and Denizlispor, from Turkey.

The center forward has only played one game for the Colombian national team.
