Turin (Italy) – In a relaxed moment behind the scenes at the ATP Finals, Serbian Novak Djokovic met the daughters of Mexican doubles player Santiago Gonzalez, who led a fun conversation with the world number 1, with questions about tennis and also about his personal life.

Djokovic started by talking about his pets, saying that he has two small dogs, called Pierre and Dogman. Then he talked about his favorite tournament: “My favorite tournament was the one I used to play at home, in Belgrade, Serbia, but we don’t have it anymore. If we talk about the big tournaments I would probably choose Wimbledon.”

After saying what his favorite gift was as a child, ‘Nole’ spoke about his relationship with his children, who enjoys many moments with them. An important topic in the Serbian’s career, diet ended up being on the agenda when he was asked if his children like sweets .

“They skimp on sweets, but we try to give them healthier versions, but they are smart and can hide it,” said the Serb.

Returning to tennis, he was asked if he would like to play with Gonzalez. “Your father never asked me to play doubles with him, so when he asks, we’ll see. We can talk,” said Djokovic.

“Let’s play”, intervened the Mexican double player, who was then complemented by the world number 1. “I don’t know if I’m at the level he wants for doubles. But who knows, maybe one day we’ll play together, maybe in Mexico,” said Djokovic.
