Conor McGregor’s return to MMA must be postponed once again. The Irishman’s trainer, John Kavanagh, stated, in an interview with the program “The MMA Hour”, that the fighter’s return should no longer happen in April, but around July, cooling the possibility of a fight at UFC 300.

– We were hoping it would be in April. That was the expectation. That’s what they told us. But now it seems to be summer (in the northern hemisphere). I don’t know (the reason) – she declared.
Despite the disappointment of McGregor and his team, John Kavanagh played down the wait. The coach highlighted that the Irishman is enjoying training and is keeping busy with preparation. He also added that he believes the return duel will be against Michael Chandler in the welterweight category.
– Yes, it was a surprise to hear that it will be in July, when we expected April, but it’s not the end of the world. It’s a few more months. It’s not great, but he’s enjoying the training at the moment. Just keep going like this.
Kavanagh, however, is still hopeful that the UFC will change its mind and offer McGregor a fight in April. If that happens, the coach believes that the Irishman would want to have a second fight at the end of August or September.
