Vasco will have Gabriel Pec in the game against Cruzeiro, next Wednesday (22), at Mineirão. The club reached an agreement with the CBF, which will bring forward the striker’s release from training for the Olympic team.
Vasco has already been warned by the CBF that Pec will be released sooner. The tendency is for the striker to return to the club at the beginning of next week, before the game against Cruzeiro.
Gabriel Pec presented himself to the under-23 team this Monday, in São Paulo. The striker will participate in a training period at CT Joaquim Grava, from Corinthians, with the team preparing for the Pre-Olympics, which will be held in January, in Venezuela.
It was the first time that coach Ramon Menezes called up Gabriel Pec. The two worked together at Vasco in 2020. The group will train until November 21st there, but the tendency is for the striker to return before Vasco. There will be no pre-Olympic team games during the period.
The direct confrontation against Cruzeiro, on Wednesday next week, on the 22nd, at Mineirão, is treated as a priority at the club. Vasco understands that Gabriel Pec’s call-up was deserved and therefore did not request a recall. The club hopes, however, that it sought an agreement with the CBF to have the player in time to finish preparing for the match against the team from Minas Gerais.
In addition to Pec, Vasco had its captain Medel called up by the Chilean national team, in the next FIFA Data. The defender’s situation, however, is more complicated, since Chile will face Ecuador, on the night of the 21st, in Guayaquil, which, in principle, makes his presence in the game against Cruzeiro unfeasible.
