Julie Kedzie gave, this Wednesday, an extensive interview to the British television station BBC Sportin which he explained the various problems he has been going through since leaving professional MMA in 2013.
The former UFC fighter, who had a total of 16 wins and 13 losses after the 29 official fights she competed in throughout her career, revealed that she has suffered from depression, anxiety, hyperactivity, impulsiveness and lack of sleep, symptoms compatible with encephalopathy chronic trauma, a condition that can only be diagnosed after death.
Taking this into account, the former athlete, currently 42 years old, made it known that she intends to donate her brain to science, so that it is possible to achieve advances in this specific problem: “It seems to me like a very normal thing to do.”
“I’ve been hit in the head many times, so it’s best to see what’s inside and if anything can be used from the data. If there is a way to continue to evolve in this field and in the women’s cause, then yes”, she added.
