Participating in the Mundo GV podcast, by former goalkeeper Getúlio Vargas, the president of Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt, spoke about Gustavo Scarpa. The Nottingham Forest (ING) athlete is being considered for Brazilian clubs and the manager was asked if there is any move by Tricolor to repatriate him.
– He’s a great player, but he has nothing. As a club manager I need to sublimate certain things, but there is a lot of sadness among the fans. But he has nothing like Scarpa, zero. I’m speaking in a broad sense. He was very young, he may have made a mistake…He got an injunction, left and the club was left with nothing. I wasn’t here, so what I know is from the press, I wasn’t at the club. But I get along well with him. The times we played against Palmeiras, he was polite to me, I to him. I worked with him for a whole year when he was football vice. It’s always been great with me – commented Mário.
According to the website of the newspaper “O Globo”, Nottingham set the value of 4 million euros (R$ 21.1 million to get rid of Scarpa. The 29-year-old midfielder has already had his name linked with Internacional, Flamengo and Atlético-MG.
