A major setback has hit Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton in their film project about Formula 1. The actor will have to reshoot an extensive part of the film, generating significant costs. The reason for this lies in changes to sponsorship agreements following the Hollywood strike, which reportedly prevent the use of material filmed thus far.

This year, a strike occurred in Hollywood led by screenwriters and actors, who demanded better wages and a different salary structure, less dependent on the number of views of episodes or films. Furthermore, the aim was to limit the use of artificial intelligence in productions.

Pitt and Hamilton’s joint project, which involves filming with the fictional F1 team Apex, had to be halted. Although an agreement has been reached to resume filming, it will be necessary to restart the process due to changes in sponsorship agreements.

Tens of millions of dollars worth of material already filmed will no longer be usable, resulting in the need to discard some of the material already accumulated. Even special scenes, such as driving an F2 car (adapted as if it were an F1) on the Silverstone circuit, will have to be re-recorded. The problem is the proximity of the end of the Formula 1 season, which will inevitably cause additional delays to the project.

A source revealed to The Sun: “This really is a nightmare for Brad and the team. Many events were planned for filming throughout the year, which would have helped to reduce costs rather than having to recreate high-speed, wide-shot moments. However, with all the changes in sponsors, this has now made the material unusable. It’s devastating for Brad and Lewis, who see this project as their baby.”

The film, which promises to offer a unique behind-the-scenes look at Formula 1, is now facing a significant delay due to these unforeseen financial and logistical issues.
