Gustavo Mosquito announced in August his contract renewal with Corinthians, valid until the middle of 2026, but since then his new relationship with the club has not been registered with the CBF.

At the entity, the 26-year-old striker’s contract with Timão remains valid only until December 31st of this year. According to information from the club’s football department, however, the new document will be registered from next season.
Until now, what was signed by Gustavo Mosquito was a pre-contract. Despite this, there are no great fears on the part of the club about breaking the relationship, as there is a high fine foreseen for a unilateral break.
Interestingly, the decision not to register the new contract this season was requested by the player himself, who is in dispute with his former manager, Carlos Leite. The board accepted the request, as this exempts the club from paying the promised glove values from this season onwards.
The contract renewal was a promise received by the player shortly after suffering a ligament injury to his right knee in October 2022, against Fluminense. While he was still crying on the stretcher in Timão’s dressing room at the Neo Química Arena, he was consoled by president Duilio Monteiro Alves, who stated that his renewal was guaranteed. The agreement actually came ten months later.
Currently, Gustavo Mosquito is the one who represents his own interests. It was he, without an intermediary, who signed the new agreement with the club. The agency contract with Carlos Leite runs until April and, as a result, the businessman expects to receive his share of the renewal.
Since returning to play, Gustavo Mosquito has participated in 14 matches and scored one goal, against Cruzeiro.
