Athletico’s starting midfielder is the target of a Serie A rival for 2024

The steering wheel Erickof Athleticois in the sights of International for the next season. The player is an old wish for Colorado, who had already presented a proposal to Furacão in January this year, but which was rejected.

The information was initially released by journalist Tiago Marchezini. The transfer window officially opens on January 11, 2024, but clubs are already moving behind the scenes to negotiate.

Internacional is in an election period and official negotiations between the clubs would depend on the re-election of president Alessandro Barcellos.

Erick’s staff even formed a partnership with André Cury, Vitor Roque’s manager and many other Brazilian players, to expand negotiations. The midfielder hopes for appreciation, whether at Athletico or another club.

Coming from Operário, Erick has been at Athletico since 2019 and has a contract with the club until January 2026. Now an absolute starter, the midfielder has played 55 games this season, with eight goals and five assists. In calculated numbers, it is the best year of the number 26’s career.

In total, there are more than 200 games with the red-black shirt, with titles from the Copa do Brasil 2019, Sul-Americana 2021 and Paranaense 2019, 2020 and 2023. The midfielder turned 26 years old this Tuesday (14).

With Erick available, Furacão’s next match will be against Vasco, on Saturday (25), at 7:30 pm, at Ligga Arena, for the 35th round. Seventh placed, with 50 points, the team is still looking for a place in the Libertadores in 2024.
