According to the complaint from the Public Ministry of the State of Ceará (MPCE), the target of the crime was a man who lived in the property, a family member of the victims. However, the criminals shot David and his grandfather.
Davi was killed with 18 shots and Francisco with seven gunshots. Each defendant had their participation identified and described in the complaint, and the differences between the sentences occurred due to the defendants not being of legal age at the time of the crime.
The group was convicted of criminal organizations and also of double homicide.
The motivation would be a dispute between criminal factions, however, the victims had no connection with the groups. Davi was a surf instructor and worked on social actions in the community.
