Alex Pereira is among the five best fighters in the UFC. The organization updated the athlete rankings this Tuesday (14) and placed Poatan in the top-5 of Ultimate after winning the light heavyweight belt against Czech Jiri Prochazka. The Brazilian, who was in 10th, moved up five positions.
With the jump, Poatan left his compatriot Charles do Bronx behind, as well as Sean O’Malley (current bantamweight champion), Sean Strickland (current middleweight champion), Israel Adesanya and Brazilian Alexandre Pantoja (current champion flyweight). Alex Pereira is only behind Leon Edwards (current welterweight champion), Alex Volkanovski (current featherweight champion), Jon Jones (current heavyweight champion) and Islam Makhachev (current lightweight champion)
