Chael Sonnen took everyone by surprise this Tuesday when he used his social networks to show a supposed tattoo with the face of Anderson Silva, his biggest rival in MMA, more than ten years after the last fight between them. From the post it can be deduced that the action is to pay off a supposed bet between the American and the Brazilian.
– I am a man of my word, Anderson Silva – wrote Sonnen in the post, from which it is not possible to know whether the tattoo is real, temporary or a montage.
Sonnen and Anderson promoted one of the biggest rivalries in world MMA. In their first fight, in 2010, the American almost beat the Brazilian, but Spider submitted his rival in the fifth round to defend his middleweight belt (under 83.9kg). In 2012, Anderson knocked out Sonnen in the second round.
In a recent meeting, in promotion of the fight between Anderson Silva and Jake Paul in boxing, peace between the Brazilian and the American seemed to be sealed once and for all. Anderson and Sonnen played with the topic and hugged during the press conference.
